Pharmacy Apprenticeship Programme - Summer 2023/24 and 2024/25 Intake

Are you interested in developing a career in pharmacy?  We are now taking applications for our Pharmacy Apprenticeship Programme and would love to hear from you.  No previous experience is required as this is an entry level position, however the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Respect for colleagues, customers and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong team working skills
  • Attention to detail and following instructions

Your main day to day activity will involve working with our Pharmacy Counter Advisors, handling prescriptions, dealing with patient queries and using the till to process sales.  You will also be enrolled onto the Pharmacy Services Apprenticeship program which will cover the following areas:

  • Dispensing and supply of medicines and medicinal products
  • Team work
  • Communication, pharmacy law and ethics
  • Person-centered care
  • Health and Safety in the workplace

On completion of our 2- year programme, the successful candidate will also be issued with a Dispensing Assistant certificate which meets the GPhC minimum training requirements for dispensing assistants/pharmacy assistants (NVQ Level 2).  In addition, there will be opportunities for further career progression including training as a Pharmacy Technician (NVQ Level 3) and Accuracy Checking Technician.
