Keeping safe in the sunshine as the lockdown eases

With the glorious, hot, sunny weather still with us, now that lockdown has eased slightly it is all too tempting to spend our days basking in the warmth of the summer sun – especially as trips abroad and long awaited holidays may have been cancelled.

Whilst exposure to sunshine is beneficial as a source of Vitamin D, the risk of skin damage is nevertheless prevalent and everyone should ensure they use suitable SP factor sun creams to protect themselves from sunburn and the dangers of excessive sun exposure during the summer months.

At Reavley Chemist we are delighted to offer a wide range of pre-sun and after sun care products from a selection of reputable brands which will suit all skin types, ages and, importantly, budgets. Nivea Sun, Riemann P20, Ambre Solere, Piz Buin, Vichy, Malibu,
La Roche-Posay and Solero are all available in a variety of options – feel free to ask our experienced staff for advice on which range is best for you and your family.

Also, it is important to remember to keep well hydrated at all times and we recommend wearing a hat to avoid over heating, especially during the hottest times of the day. We advise our customers to keep a supply of insect repellents and bite relief cream in your medicine cabinet at this time of year.

Reavley Chemist has remained open during the past few months to support the local community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are pleased to stock essential protective products to help keep our customers safe, including facial protective masks, hand sanitiser, hand soap, tissues, Paracetamol, vitamin C and zinc tablets – please contact our pharmacy team if you wish to purchase any items or to discuss if any product is suitable for you, should you have any existing medical concerns.

We look forward to being joined by other retailers as they reopen their doors over the next few weeks and our town resumes trading, whilst respecting the need for social distancing.
