Stay safe and well with the professional reassurance of the team at Reavley Chemist

With all the drama and global fears caused by the recent outbreak of Coronavirus, it is reassuring to know that you have expert help at hand at Burford’s Reavley Chemist. As England’s oldest pharmacy, the apothecary baton has been passed from one family to another, generation after generation, and now is held masterfully by Ben Tuffour, Superintendent Pharmacist. Alongside
Ben are two new Pharmacist Managers, both trained at Bradford, who have worked amongst the local community for over 35 years between them.

Paddy McAllister was brought up in County Tyrone in Ireland, but has lived with her family in Witney for over twenty years. Her three children have all followed her into medicine, so it is clear that her love of the medical profession has been influential!

In previous years, Paddy occasionally covered for Cedric Reavley, so she had experience of working within the local community prior to joining the pharmacy earlier this year. Paddy loves working within an independent pharmacy, although she has experience of both chain and independent chemists historically, much like her colleague, Alison Evans.

Alison originates from Suffolk but has lived in the area for over fifteen years, working for High Street chemists for many years and also at the Burford Surgery prior to joining Ben at Reavley Chemist last year. With two primary school age children and three guinea pigs, Alison has a busy life when she is not at the pharmacy, but loves the opportunity to work with local people that a small, independent chemist affords.

Both Pharmacist Managers have a wealth of experience and provide friendly and reassuring faces during the current stressful, worrying times and will always be on hand to assist and advise. So, if you have any health concerns over the coming weeks or during Easter and Bank Holidays when GP surgeries are not available, remember you will always find a warm welcome and expert advice at your local pharmacy, often saving the need to wait for a doctor’s appointment or a visit to the hospital emergency department.

Our Pharmacy Counter Advisors are also well trained and can provide advice on a wide range of over the counter medicines to assist you with self-care. Our chemist provides the fourth emergency service, on hand to help as the first port of call for all your medical concerns.
